A CONVERSATION WITH MOLLY McKAY ABOUT LIVING IN THE MOMENT, WHY SMALL IS BETTER AND YOGA AS A GREAT BUSINESS BOOST
Have you experienced adversity and how did you handle it?
Absolutely, we do not live in a perfect world. We must utilize our resources and past experiences with each new scenario we encounter. I best handle new adversities by trying my best to live in the moment. We can’t be concerned about yesterday’s adversity or worried about next week’s meeting. That way when I’m faced with a new adversity I can focus all my energy on being calm in the moment and evaluate all my options. This will align me to engage in a proactive conversation.
Give us an example of how you inspired your team in difficult times.
I always like to simplify things as best as possible. When in a difficult situation I don’t like to look at the big problem or the massive strides we need to take to resolve it. I like to make small and manageable goals that we can reach in a realistic timeframe.
What are three ideas on how you turn around a difficult situation?
Take the emotion out of it, acknowledge/validate the other party’s concerns and together strategize on a solution that is fair.
What quote inspires you in tough times?
“If not us, who? If not now, when?” by John F. Kennedy.
A lot of people turn to something when adversity runs high: running, chocolate, a glass of wine, put head “in sand” and think, meditation. How do you reignite?
A good yoga practice always rejuvenates me. 🙂
What do you think of when you think of Gabby?
When I think of Gabby, I think of a leader, one who easily inspires others and encourages growth in all aspects of business, self-improvement and relationships.
